It humbles me to think that I spend so much time working with words, but my cat can get his message across without any words at all.
He is living proof of the Cat Motto that it never hurts to ask for what you want. Any time I go into the kitchen, he starts miaowing, even if it's only been five minutes since he ate. He looks up hopefully, and climbs up the drawers under the counter by placing his rabbity white paws delicately on each successive handle until he's standing on his hind legs and can rub his head on my face if I bend over.
He has a whole vocabulary of vocalizations. There's the "Mommy, I love you so much" purr, and the "Help! There are ghosts in the dining room!" cry, and the ever popular Dinner Aria: Feed me now for I must eat! (properly sung whilst stretched out on the floor, writhing in the agony of impending starvation).
His thesauraus only has one word in it, but it has a thousand meanings.
Bright Blessings,
Spiral Crone
